Mothers of the disappeared — Collage
This poster was an attempt to translate into visuals the haunting emotion of U2's Mothers of the Disappeared—a poignant tribute to the women of Latin America, particularly in Argentina and El Salvador, who courageously protested the forced disappearances of their children under brutal military regimes. The song, steeped in sorrow and quiet resilience, inspired a design that echoes its themes of loss, memory, and silent defiance. More than a homage, the poster invites the viewer to reflect on the trials of the twenty-first century and to consider how each of us fits within the broader narrative of resistance, justice, and remembrance. Visually influenced by the Pietà, the poster depicts a grieving mother cradling her child—an image of profound mourning and a meditation on a future unjustly taken.
